Substance Use Disorder: Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Advocacy Conference
Recover-Con is Illinois’ largest and most comprehensive Recovery Conference focusing on building the Recovery Community on all sides. 31 National and Local leaders will present on relevant and timely topics such as; Supporting Recovery Through National Policy, Police Deflection Summit, Recovery Friendly Workplace Panel, Fair Housing Act and Sober Living Homes, Peer Coaching and Recovery Capital, Client First Approach to Treatment, Harm Reduction in Today’s World and so much more.
Up to 12 CEUs will be provided by the National Association of Social Workers- Illinois Chapter as per IDFPR requirements for Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses, Licensed Clinical Psychologists, and School Social Workers (PELs, formerly Type 73s).
Conference Objectives:
- Increase knowledge and skills to promote wellness, prevention, intervention, treatment, recovery, holistic care, and continuous quality improvement using best practices for their community across the lifespan.
- Promote meaningful involvement in person and family-centered planning, services, support, and system change.
- Increase knowledge of peer support, peer-run programs, and topics related to Certified Peer Specialist in Illinois.
- Increase knowledge and skills regarding special topics in mental health, substance use disorder, and integrated treatment.
- Decrease stigma regarding the recovery process for persons who use drugs and providers
